HTC One X VS Samsung Galaxy S2

While the HTC flagship is being touted as the "King among the Android phones," our very favorite Samsung Galaxy S2 is also getting its much-awaited Ice Cream Sandwich update and preparing to give the last fight against the so-called "king" before the company phases it out with the launch of Galaxy S3.

While the world is waiting for the day when Samsung will finally extend its Galaxy S family with the launch of S3, we wanted to see how the old hero of smartphone is doing against HTC One X.
Size: HTC One X represents today's latest trend of super-slim Android handsets and is an absolute stunner from outside (inside we'll discover later!). The phone touts a slim body which measures 5.1 x 2.5 x 0.30 mm and weighs 119.5 grams.
Galaxy S2 is a fat phone when compared to the One X. It has 125.9 x 66.1 x 8.8 mm dimension and weighs 116 grams. But the Samsung phone, with its intelligently curved sides, provides a comfortable and assured grip.

Processor: One X comes in two variants. While AT&T will offer a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Krait processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, the international model will come with a 1.5 GHz quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 CPU. The international version embeds 32GB of internal memory but the AT&T HTC One X comes with only 16GB internal memory and no external memory slot, 1GB of RAM and an Adreno 225 graphics processing unit.
The AT&T and Sprint version of Galaxy S2 come with 1.2GHz Exynos dual-core CPU but the T-Mobile version comes with Snapdragon. The phone includes Mali-400MP GPU and 1 GB RAM. Samsung packs in internal memory configurations of 16/32GB and an external microSD card that allows its memory capacity to another 32GB.
Operating System: HTC One X comes with Android's latest Ice Cream Sandwich OS and sports a sleek HTC Sense 4.0 user interface. The "toned down" version of the Sense UI is going well with the notification tray, Android 4.0's task switcher, revamped keyboard and the redesigned home screen dock is also quite impressive.
Galaxy S2 has just received an ICS update. The combination of ICS and its TouchWiz user interface version 4.0 gives a slick handling experience and adds real utility to daily use of the phone.
With the new OS, the user can enjoy an endless carousel of homescreens and also browse through the new Google Chrome browser.
Camera: One X comes with an 8 megapixel snapper and new image chip, f2.0 aperture, 28mm lens and backside-illuminated sensor.
The company has also provided the upgraded Sense 4.0 in the camera, which now lets the user tweak manually and capture up to 99 continuous pictures by holding down the shutter. The phone sports a 1.3 megapixel camera in the front for video calling. Both the cameras in One X record HD videos in 1080p and 720p respectively.
Galaxy S2 comes with an 8 megapixel 3264x2448 pixels unit with 1080p video capture capabilities and a secondary 2 megapixel camera for video calling.
Camera Features: The S2 camera has features like autofocus, LED flash, Geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection and image stabilization.
The One X, on the other hand, sports almost similar camera features like Geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection, image stabilization. But the most notable feature is its ImageSense, which lets the user take great photos in almost any situation. With features like HTC Video Pic, Group Portrait, Smile Capture, Panorama, and Portrait modes, HTC truly provides you a digital camera on your phone.
3G/4G: One X, which is expected to support HSDPA 21 Mbps, HSUPA 5.76 Mbps. it supports AT&T's 4G LTE.
Galaxy S2, on the other hand, supports download speed of 21 Mbps and upload speed of 5.76 Mbps and supports LTE.
WLAN/Bluetooth/USB: HTC sports Bluetooth 3.0 version with A2DP and microUSB 2.0 version along with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, and Wi-Fi hotspot.
Samsung Galaxy S2 comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth version 3 and HS, USB version 2.0 with microUSB (MHL), USB On-the-go features. Galaxy S2 also provides Near Field Communication technology as an optional feature.
Battery: Galaxy S2 comes with a standard Li-Ion 1650 mAh battery that gives stand-by time of up to 710 hours for 2G and up to 610 hours for the 3G and talk time of up to 18 hours 20 min for 2G and up to 8 hours 40 min for 3G.
